III: Laws of the game

  1. All matches at Nørhalne Cup will be played under the rules of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) unless otherwise is stated here.
  2. Match duration:
    • normal tournament - 5-a-side :  2 x 15 minutes
    • normal tournament - 8- and 11-a-side :  2 x 20 minutes

  4. The teams must be ready dressed and ready to play at the ground 20 minutes before kick-off. If a team is not on the field of play and ready to start a match within 8 minutes after the scheduled kick-off time, this team will forfeit the match. The tournament management can, however, dispense with this rule and decide that the match is to be played at a later time, in which case the result of this rescheduled match will be valid in the tournament.
  5. If both teams are wearing the same colours, the first-named team must change.
  6. Number of players:
    • 5-a-side:  5 + 3 substitutes
    • 8-a-side:  8 + 3 substitutes

Substitutions can only be made during a break in play and only with the referee’s permission. Rolling substitution (re-entry of a player) is allowed
  8. Disciplinary sanctions
    1. A player that gets cautioned (yellow card) will automatically be suspended from the match for 5 minutes.
      Exception: 5-a-side games.
    2. Two bookings in one match will result in a sending off (red card) for the rest of the match. The player will be included in the referee's match report and he will automatically be suspended for the next match.
    3. A direct red card results in a sending off for the rest of the match, and the player will be included in the referee's match report and will automatically be suspended in the next match. Following evaluation of the referee's match report, the Tournament Committee can decide to impose a suspension of more than one match. Serious offences will be reported to the national football association of the country of the club concerned.
  9. Suspended players:
Players that have been suspended from the game by a red card – no matter if it is the result of a second yellow card or a direct red card – will automatically be suspended for the next match of their team.
It is in the responsibility of the team not to use a player during a suspension. On violation of the rule, the game will be counted as a loss for that team by 0:3, the opposing team will be counted as winner by 3:0.
